  • 1. What is the best way to care for hand-dyed yarn?

    Hand wash gently in cool water with wool wash. Lay flat to dry. Avoid hot water and agitation to prevent felting.

  • 2. Will my yarn look exactly like the photos?

    Because each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, slight variations are normal and part of its charm. Even within the same colorway, no two skeins are exactly identical.

  • 3. Do you dye in dye lots?

    Yes — but hand-dyed lots are often naturally small. If you're planning a larger project, please purchase enough yarn at the same time to ensure the closest match.

  • 4. Do you offer custom colorways?

    Yes! If you have a specific idea, palette, or reference photo, reach out through the contact form. I'm happy to create a custom colorway when time and materials allow.

  • 5. What yarn bases do you offer?

    I offer a range of cozy, home-inspired bases, including fingering/sock, DK, worsted, bulky, Suri, sparkle blends, and a luxury yak sock base. See the Shop page for full details. We are always growing, so check back frequently to see what new bases may be added! We are also open to suggestions, so feel free to reach out through the contact page!

  • 6. How long will it take to ship my order?

    Ready-to-ship yarn typically ships within 3–5 business days.
    Dyed-to-order items will have production times listed on their product pages.

  • 7. Which yarn should I use for socks?

    Comfort Sock (merino/nylon) and Hearthstone Sock (merino/yak/nylon) are both excellent choices for soft, durable socks.

  • 9. How should I alternate skeins?

    For hand-dyed yarn, I always recommend alternating every 2–3 rows to blend variations naturally.

  • 10. Do you wind yarn cakes?

    Yes! You can add yarn winding at checkout if you’d like your skeins caked and ready to use.

  • 11. Do you ship internationally?

    Yes, I currently ship within the U.S. and a few international locations. Rates are shown at checkout.

  • 12. What if my yarn arrives damaged?

    If anything arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact me within 3 days and I’ll make it right.

  • 13. How often do you release new colorways?

    I update the shop regularly with new cozy, home-inspired colorways. Follow me on Instagram for previews and shop updates.

  • 14. Do you accept returns or exchanges?

    Returns are subject to approval and are limited to a 90-day window from purchase. Please contact us at support@hhyarn.com if there is an issue with your purchase, so we may discuss the correct method needed in order to settle the dispute.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused. Yarn that is purchased with optional cake winding is not eligible for return. Unless otherwise approved by H&H Yarn Co., the cost of returning the item(s) is the responsibility of the purchaser. Any additional shipping costs that were incurred at the time of purchase are non-refundable.

    A credit will be sent once we receive the product in our studio and all previous conditions have been met. If you are returning item(s) from outside the U.S. and customs charges are incurred by H&H Yarn Co., these costs will be deducted from the original purchase amount. We are happy to provide evidence of such costs. All refunds are calculated in USD.

    Any items not returned in their original condition or after the 90-day window will not be credited. Please contact us at support@hhyarn.com before shipping your item back. 

    Refunds (if applicable)

    Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval (or rejection) of your refund. If you are approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

    Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

    If you haven’t received a refund within 5 business days of notice, please contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

    If you are shipping an item over $60, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
